Shawl Ministry

The Unity Church of Des Moines began meeting in February of 2006 to knit or crochet prayer shawls while praying and meditating.  Those who did not know how were included and taught a new skill.

The prayer shawls are given out to others in need of comfort to feel the unconditional love of God during any difficult time.  Prayers are continued throughout the creation of the shawl.

Once the shawl is completed, they are blessed with love during church service.  Some recipients have continued the kindness by making one themselves and passing it on to someone else in need of comfort.  Thus, the blessing is given from one person to another.  If you are interest in participating in any way including donating yarn, please contact the church.  For more information on Shawl Ministry, visit the website: www.shawlministry.com for more information.
