Christening or Baptism

We are very pleased that you are hoping to be baptized yourself or seeking for a member of your family to be baptized. At Unity Church of Des Moines, we welcome people of any age who seek to live the Christian life.
At Christenings, or baptism, we come together to give thanks to God for his gift of new life and to pray for those who set out on their journey of faith.
The baptism or christening can be performed during the regular service or before.  We have Harmony Hall available if your invited family and friends wish to stay and celebrate afterwards.
Please call and schedule a time with the church (515-255-7757) to coordinate scheduling.

Celebration of Life

Celebrate the transition of your loved one.  Unity Church of  Des Moines will perform a loving and compassionate memorial that will comfort, heal and celebrate your loved one in a personal and beautiful way.

A new form has been developed that gives space for you to put down all of your needs and wishes for your final arrangements, if you so desire.  This is in response to concerns that some of you have voiced during this transition period.

The forms are available through the Bookstore (515-274-2782) and will be kept in a confidential, secure file.  We hope those who have been concerned will feel more at peace, knowing your wishes are in place.  During our interim period Rev. Heather Withers will be available to officiate, if you so choose.

Pet Memorial or Blessing

The Unity Church of Des Moines can have a memorial service or pet blessing for your beloved animal friend.  Please contact the office at 515-255-7757.
