The websight looks great! Very nice content and search catagories. Having said that, I am expecting our membership to steadily increase for Unity Church as people continue turning to God. This is due to impending spiritual “paradigm shift”. People are “waking up” during these hard times. People are turning to God in a personal way as the source of truth and reality. We are finding out that everything else is illusion. Unity church docrines perfectly reflect the major tenet of “God within”. This is fantasticly empowering for all humanity and each individual who comes to realize that the only answer is “within”. This fine websight will represent Des Moines Unity very well!

Wow! I came to this to see how to “Blog” for the first time in my life. I see it is easy!
Doug, you have a great picture of you in the photo gallery, in case you haven’t seen it.
Wasn’t Elizabeth Mora wonderful today? So much good energy and humor. This is fun.

Hello Unity Family! Yeah Lynn, welcome to the optical illusion called blogging :) Doug, I couldnt agree with you more – hard times in this unreal world are allowing us spiritual beings (going through a human experience) reach within into that eternal and every giving light which is the sense of renewal, rejoice and peace. Thanks Lynn for your email today and I will try to partake in the “Mayday” festivities. Lots of love and positive energy ur way…

What is the Groundhog Day Effect. It is defined as: an unpleasant, unchanging, repetitive situation that leaves one feeling powerless. Remember the movie “Groundhog”. Each day was the same until he changed his conciousness.

Everyone who has ever tried to change limiting beliefs and transform their lives in a significant way is stymied by The Groundhog Day Effect. The effect usually appears like this: When we are forced to change, or realize we must transform old self-destructive patterns, we leap into action.

What were your resolutions or intentions? How is it working for you? Are you having a “Ground Hog” day effect?
    Let’s blog!

  • Doug "coach" Johnson:

Blog traffic….AWESOME! I saw the movie Groundhog day many times…it is a favorite. Bill Murry finally learns to be a hu..man after much trial and tribulation. It is a the lesson we all must learn. I think our small. little church…here at Unity…can spread true brotherhood, in our selves then our families, our neighborhoods and all over the world. What a fantastic concept…all mankind unified in compassionate brother(sister)hood!

  • Doug "Coach" Johnson:

I started reading Kristy Patterson’s (Our newest board member)recomended book, the soul’s plan, or (courageous soul) by Robert Schwartz. Wow… what a mind blowing book! I am only into it thirty some pages and cannot keep from obsessing and reviewing this profoundly “heavy” and important information. Thank you Kristy for mentioning this amazing resource! That brings me to a related topic. As some of us are on small, fixed incomes…is there a way that there can be some kind of “lending library” for folks with restrictive financial means?

  • Nancy Hall:

We have a lending library downstairs in Harmony Hall on the west wall bookcases. If anyone has appropriate Unity books they wish to share, would you please put them on the shelves downstairs. It is based on an honor system…just borrow and return. Let’s share the abundance. Joyful Reading

Hello to all Unity Friends….the talk today (Palm Sunday) was a bit like the “Groundhog Effect”…or how to not stay “stuck” in the same old same old! The power of denials is to really “let God and let go” of our old consciousness which no longer works. The scripture from Matthew 21, vs 18-22 tells us that Jesus withered the non-bearing fig tree. Powerful lesson to teach us to let go of what no longer works! Jesus withered it so no one else would try to get fruit from it. I would have gone to Earl May for fertilizer etc. to TRY to make it work! I aspire to be as decisive and discerning as Jesus to really get rid of the things in my life that don’t really work! So, what is your fig tree???

Hi Stephen, I have just visited your nice design website and left you a question regarding Amazon. Is there a way for us to get our personal pictures for this Des Moines, Unity blog like you have? It really adds something very nice! I am a computer neophite so your explainations need to be quite basic for me to understand. Namaste, Doug.
